Day 270
Miles Traveled: 50
Total Miles Traveled: 3435

This travel day differed from ones in the recent past.  Instead of traveling over multiple waterways, the majority of our day was spent on one river - the Waccamaw River.  With its wooded banks and deep water shoreline to shoreline, it reminded us a lot of our home cruising grounds on the Ohio River.  One exception being in our section of the Ohio River there are lots of rolling hills as well.  The Waccamaw River started out very wide and began to narrow as we moved along.

After leaving the Waccamaw River behind, we entered Pine Island Cut, which will eventually take us to the Little River.  Along this cut, we passed by many golf courses.  The area in and around Myrtle Beach, SC is a golf lovers dream.  They are so devoted to their golfing, they built a gondola over the ICW to transport golfers from a parking lot to one of the golf courses and its clubhouse.

We ended our day at a marina in North Myrtle Beach, SC called Barefoot Marina.  It is a resort, but was not very busy as this time of the year is off season.  The restaurant was not going to open for another couple of weeks, so we ate on board.
