Day 32
Miles Traveled: 52
Total Miles Traveled: 895

We got a later start this day due to fog.  It delayed our departure for about one hour and we got underway at about 8:15am.

We had to "suffer" through more beautiful scenery again. (Ha, Ha).  We found this section of the river to be the most scenic on the Cumberland River.  It is known as the "Thousand Islands of the Cumberland".  Although Barkley Lake is a very wide body of water, much of it is not navigable with a lot of shallows and islands.  A large collection of islands are in this area.

Friday was a typical travel day.  We get up at daybreak and either pull up anchor or cast off lines.  If we are anchored, Angie drives first while Dan eats breakfast, then Dan drives while Angie eats.  If we are docked, then the scenario is reversed.  We do this to save some time and get into our next port sooner.  We also eat lunch while under way.  Again, one will drive while the other eats.  This, so far, is working well and allows us to cover more miles in a day.  We also take shifts driving the boat - one hour on and one hour off.  This keeps either of us from getting to tired and helps to keep us staying alert while at the helm (driving station for you non-boaters).  While one is driving, the other is watching out for hazards and helping with navigation, or sometimes taking a nap.

We ended our day at Buzzard Rock Resort and Marina.  Dan ran into an old classmate and his wife, Steve and Sara, on "Stork's Nest".  They keep their boat docked at this marina.  We visited with them before going to dinner at the marina restaurant, Buzzard Rock Cafe.  The check out counter is an old run about boat.
