Day 223
Miles Traveled: 14
Total Miles Traveled: 2815
We traveled a short distance today to Vero Beach, FL. Along the way we saw some dolphins and a waterway billboard sign.

We arrived at Vero Beach Municipal Marina just before lunch. After lunch, we turned on our Verizon Jetpack MiFi (our access to the internet for the tablet and the laptop) to do some research on where to go, and, it was not functioning. We could not get our devices to connect with the MiFi. Dan spent two hours on the phone with technical support and was not able to get it functioning. A plan was in place to have a new one overnighted tomorrow (since today was Sunday) with arrival on Tuesday (the day we were planning on leaving).
Frustrated with nonfunctioning technology, we decided to take a walk towards downtown Vero Beach. We found a nice park called Humiston Park which was about 1.5 miles from the marina. At the park entrance was a compass rose on the sidewalk and a sea turtle sculpture.

It was worth the walk, because just beyond the park was the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. We sat on a bench for a while and rested while enjoying the scenery.

Feeling better about our misfortune, we returned to the boat. Dan turned the MiFi back on, and, as luck would have it, it was functioning properly. He called Verizon back and canceled the overnight delivery of a new one. Fortunately, we have a lot of wood inside the cabin of "Seahorse" to knock on, so as not to jinx ourselves. With functioning WiFi, Angie worked on the blog and Dan made dinner. We did trip planning and relaxed the rest of the evening after a beautiful sunset.
