BECOMING WATER GYPSIES

How did we do this, you ask.  Well for us it went something like this.  We put the house up for sale and it sold in 6 weeks.  Good that it sold so soon, but now we had to move.  This was the first downsizing event.  We moved into a 2 bedroom duplex which we named SEPC - Seahorse Expedition Planning Center.
The next big event was retirement.  Angie retired March 31st and on April 1st we began the process of moving onto Seahorse.  She was all wrapped with shrink wrap for the winter, so unwrapping her was like Christmas in April.

We then began the process of bringing aboard "our stuff" and preparing the boat for live aboard life and cruising.  The "To Do" List was over 4 pages and included such things as replacing raw water hoses and the pump impellar, installing a new depth finder, adding a second anchor, placing shelving in the hanging lockers for all of our clothes, installing a TV antenna, purchasing a new laptop and tablet with navigational software, and getting a Verizon MiFI for internet access (so we can do this blog).  WHEW !!!

New water hoses installed.  Love the Light!

Our safety training of test firing the flare gun did not go as planned.  The pictures speak for themselves.

Oops!!
Lesson Learned:  Fire flare gun over water.

One of the last preparations was the new "family car".  We call her Puffer Fish.

The last downsizing event will occur after our shake down cruise to Pittsburgh.  After 2 months of hard work, we are ready to cast off our lines and head upriver on the OHIO.  But first we plan to enjoy our Memorial Day Weekend with all of our boating friends.  The next time we post we will be starting our cruising lifestyle adventure.  Stay Tuned !!!  We will post again soon.
