DEMOPOLIS, AL - WE ARE BACK

Saturday, November 1st to Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

Day 89-99
Miles Traveled: 0
Total Miles Traveled: 1827

We left Demopolis, AL on Saturday, November 1st and after about an 11 hour drive were at our destination in Ashland, KY.  Our hosts, Aaron, Sherri, and Trent, had a small gathering in our honor.  We watched the Buckeyes beat Illinois and got to visit with some of our boating buddies from our home port marina.  We had a great visit and also got some routine medical tests and dental appointments completed.
Tuesday we traveled further north to Ohio and visited with Dan's son and his family and Angie's family for the remainder of the visit.  Angie's nephew had just turned six so a combination birthday party and early Thanksgiving feast occurred on Sunday.
We had a wonderful visit with our friends and family.  Although we will miss them when we leave, we were anxious to get back to Demopolis on Monday, November 10th, and restart our Great Loop adventure.

We arrived just before dinner on Monday and were pleasantly surprised to see some old friends, Rick and Rose aboard "Grand Finale".  We had met them and spent a lot of time with them at the Fall Rendezvous.  We had dinner with them that evening.

Tuesday was a very busy day.  Dan replaced the autohelm flux compass, changed the oil, and rigged the new stern anchor, rode (rope), and chain.  Angie got groceries and put away items from the recent travels.  Then, it was off to return the rental car.  A big thank you goes out to Fred, the owner of Kingfisher Bay Marina, for loaning us his personal car to return our rental car to Enterprise a little over 50 miles away.  The staff at this marina have all been extremely helpful.  This marina is great and we would recommend it highly.  For more about Kingfisher Bay Marina go to:  http://kingfisherbaymarina.com/
We ended Tuesday by having dinner with another couple that we had met at the Fall Rendezvous, Bud and Sue aboard "When I'm 64".  Another enjoyable evening with fellow Loopers.
